So, the world didn't end in 2012. I'd like to thank the Mayans for getting that wrong!
Today was a gorgeous sunny day here in the PNW (haven't had one of those days in a while). The fam decided to take advantage and spend the first day of the new year on the ski slopes... which would have and should have been amazing. Don't get me wrong, I love my family. But we suffer from extremely poor communication and that doesn't help when everybody has a different agenda and a different idea of how the day is going to go. In a nutshell, here's how the day went: 8:00 - wake-up call from my Dad who's at the door. 9:30 - finally leave our apartment after my two brothers and my brother's girlfriend are ready (I was ready at about 8:15). 10:30 - stop at McDonalds and Safeway for half an hour to do who knows what (I think it was a bathroom/breakfast break). 11:45 - finally arrive at the ski resort, get unloaded, buy lift passes, and ski a couple runs. 1:30 - stop at the Summit House restaurant for lunch. 3:15 - leave the Summit House restaurant (slightly fuming because I've literally spent half the ski day in the freaking restaurant). I ski the remaining 45 min by myself. On the bright side, I got some pretty panoramics:
